I currently have a Corsair HX620 PSU. It's 3-4 years old now and hasnt missed a beat. For those of you who don't know, it's a modular PSU.
I am looking at a Z87 Mobo to upgrade from my AMD3 setup.
My current Mobo is 4Pin 12V input (plus the large PSU plug).
The new Mobo's seem to be 8 Pin 12V input. So how do I know if I can use my current PSU for the new mobo?
Can I just plug in another 4 pin cable and slot it into the spare 4 pins?

Sorry but I'm struggling with this.

just use the 4 pin in half of the 8 pin mb socket

it will work fine, for psu's that have an 8 pin plug then use that,if not then don't worry

It turns out that there is an 8 pin connector permenantly attached to the PSU on the same terminal as the 4 pin currently in use.
So all good as long as this PSU can deliver sufficient low voltage to keep an Haswell ticking over when in sleep mode.
