Hi, after being told my PSU is the likely cause of my gfx card woes, I'd like to know how to test it to see if it's not putting out the 500W it's rated at. Is there any software I can use to monitor outputs while under load? Thanks!

all I can think is if you get one of those energy saving tools that monitors the power consumption of electronic products.

Multimeter would tell voltages but it couldn't show possible ripple.
That FSP platform gives high ripple under load higher powered models and capacitors aren't good ones and that case has PSU in warm place.
If warranty has expired you could open PSU and check if capacitors are bulging.

That sounds good. As long as it's not maxed out (which it definately wouldn't be given my system) then I can either show that a) my psu is faulty and needs an rma, b) my psu is not the cause of my gfx issues and I need to look elsewhere.

Your rig will use a max of around 240w (at the wall) and even then that would only be if the cpu and gpu were both at 100% load. This was my max with a E8500 and a 5770.
