This has happeend so many times to me where i backup data from Vista onto an external hard drive.
Copy it back say all to the desktop.
Then as soon as io move it into the rigth folder (eg documents or desktop) iVista just shares every folder, including subfolders.
Its very irritating and its happenend numerous times.

If I try to delete all the folders it asks for each folder whether i'm sure i want to delete as it will stop sharing.

And i can't click on individual folders to unshare because that takes ages. and if i unshare the parent directory the subfolders shared.

So any ideas?

I'm on Windows 7 and can't remember Vista too well, but on 7 you just open "Computer Management" and then look at the "Shared folders" box to have a look at all the folders that are shared on your PC in one place. Then you can right click on the ones you don't want and choose to "Stop sharing" it.

Let me say what i did fully maybe i made a mistake on the way.

Vista was not loading on laptop.
I took out HDD and plugged into Win 7 computer and backed up files on there.
Plugged HDD back into laptop and did system recovery (vista install).
Took out hdd and plugged it back into win 7 computer and transferred files back onto the HDD in a folder on teh C:.

Load up vista on laptop. And as soon as i move any of those folders I had backed up it automatically shares it.
