How do I upgrade Windows Server 2008 SP1 standard to R2?

Hi all,

I have a standalone install of Windows Server 2008 Standard sp1. The PC is not connected to the internet so I need to download the R2 install but cannot find this?

I have downloaded SP2 to install.

Regards

This is a new os and you would need to purchase it and then either reinstall the os or maybe upgrade it.

R2 is not like a service pack - it's a new revision of the OS.
It's not a free upgrade.
Speak to your MS license supplier and they will be able to give you pricing and supply you with the media.

You can probably do an "upgrade" - but as always everything is a lot cleaner if you can do a fresh install.

You can upgrade in place from Windows 2008 (x64) to Windows 2008 R2 (x64), done it on a couple of servers.
