I as reading custom pc on how to make a mp3 server from home wo you can listen to music whever you are (this also included if you have a dip) so I was woundering is it possible to set up a proxy at home so you can use it anywhere you want ?????
It's not a proxy you need to setup. You just need to know where your "home" is.
Basically - as long as your router or firewall can publish the relevant ports to the external address, you are half way there.
Then you need a service like www.dyndns.org to have a Dynamic DNS Service which will map your home IP Address to an easier to remember domain name. I know that the Netgear routers support this service, though it isn't hard to write your own script to keep up to date.
