I'm pretty sure it's still at stock speed as I was having trouble getting it past 4ghz and reset everything to default. I take it if I could get a decent oc on cpu may raise score slightly. Also my score was marginally higher than most other xfire scores and I was in x16/x4. Would x8/x8 make a big difference to the performance. Most reviews I find claim there would only be a minor dif to the tune of 3-5 fps

Ocing the CPU often makes a big difference (otherwise your GPUs will be bottlenecked).

As to x16/x4 or x8/x8 you need to post more info - what mobo, cpu and if you are using PCI-e 2 or 3

The only scores I can find run Heaven at higher settings. Like Kaap says though, the CPU could well be holding them back.

If I run my 3930K at stock, I don't get anywhere near the same score as if I run my 3930K at 4.6Ghz.

I was running a gigabyte f2a85x mobo until this morning and a10 5800k sure it's in first post. Trouble was the cpu wouldn't gopast 4ghz even tho it was supposed tohave an out the box 4.2 turbo.

I don't know much about AMD mobo/CPUs but they do have a reputation of holding graphics cards back on benchmarks.

This is the bit where we need someone like Humbug who knows a lot about AMD setups.

Sound guess I need wait for him to come along. I thought after getting well over 4ghz on my old phenom I could been pushing the late 4's even closing in on 5 at a push with this cpu

There a number of people here who know quite a bit about AMD unfortunately I am not one of them. Humbug or one of the others will help when they see this.
