Like theres memtest86 for memory, what is there for the HDD? I know theres scandisk and utils like defrag but they dont tell you if your HDD has "physical" issues.

thanks

I'd like to know what programs are out there too. The only thing that I found that told me of physical problems was Hdtune for temperatures, and the recovery software I used (Getdataback or something), which told me about cyclic redundancy errors and sector errors too.

Each drive manufacturer has a set of diagnostic tools on their website. These are as good as anything for all round testing.
