how do you add your thermal paste to a Quad core ?

I would guess just a blob in the middle wouldnt work to well with Quad cores as it might not cover the edges were the extra cores are.

Is there a method for Quad cores ?

I just used a grain of rice size then spread it as thin as I could with a credit card. Temps at idle with an AF7 are 31,30,28,28

Wonder if its best to spread it your self so you no its covering everything, or just let the pressure of the Cooler do it.

Me thinking spread it your self all over the CPU leaving a little gap around the edges so it doesn't drip over the sides , when finally putting the Cooler on

If your HSF and CPU are lapped then I'd use the spreading method, if not then a line down the centre, place HSF on top and gently rotate a few degrees back and forth whilst applying pressure is the method I'd use.
