hey again :p

this will probably sound dodgy, so bear with me. ;

i recently found a copy of need for speed carbon (for the ps2) tucked away under my bed. (it used to be one of my favourite games) . unfortunately, the disk is quite scratched (not too deeply) so it takes ageeeeees to load, however it is readable.
somehow i was able to copy and paste the files direcly off the disks to my pc (about 3.5 gig's worth of data) without converting any files, or experiencing any errors. :confused:
i want to burn it onto a new CD/DVD, but i don't want to risk wasting one (large ones are quite expensive).

i tried alternative backup methods, like swapmagic -- with no success, so i ruled them out. i don't want to chip my PS2 either.

i'm using a slim PS2 right now.

thanks, if you need more info, just contact me. thanks :D

Back in the day I used to polish the surface with lube and rip it with isobuster before it could heat up, no idea how it works these days though. Your files aint gonna work though.

How did you rule out swapmagic when you've never burned the game to a dvd-r?
Also you'd need to dig up a copy of the now discontinued dvd decrypter to properly copy the legit disc to the pc and then burn it to a dvd-r (which cost pennies now)
