How do you change the default Installation Directory in Windows 7 64bit

Moved to win7 64bit and have a small SSD for booting etc and want to install all programs by default to my 1TB drive.

Could do this previously in XP but its not working with the reg change method.

Anybody know what to do?

Pretty much can't. Your only real option is to do it manually each install now. Yes it was easy in XP, 7 not so much.

Well maybe someone has found a good working way now, but last I checked it was a nightmare to do.

Edit: To be a bit more clear it can be done, but it can break things and you'll still need to do manual modding to shortcut paths and stuff. Here is a link that explains how to do it and also the downsides http://www.w7forums.com/change-default-installation-path-windows-7-a-t750.html
