How do you choose your graphics settings for each game?

Use geforce experience too, especially for games that have a few settings I know nothing about (far cry 3 & crysis 3!).

Otherwise I'll notch everything up to max, if needed I'll drop aa/ao down until I hit playable frames.

I run eyefinity so I choose my graphic settings carefully ;) but with a fps overlay to help you can usually get a game sorted in a few seconds

Crank it on full, see if I like how it play. If happy, leave it, if not happy, reduce settings until happy. I don't usually bother with finding the FPS etc, if I enjoy playing the game at 20 fps I'll play it at 20 fps :p

I follow this logic a bit i max everything if i dont like the way its playing i change stuff if its fine i carry on, AB is normaly always on so my fps are always showing anyway

I usually go with the recommend settings (when games offer these) and then ramp the settings up as far as possible watching GPU load and framerate via AfterBurner.

AA and Post-Process AA effects seem to cause the most loading on my 290.

Max out the settings, motion blur always off, same with DOF depending on the game.
Start to lower AA, turn off any post processing, then lower shadows, then lower any particle settings.
