How do you count it?

Good morning all,

I was wondering, how do you count or tell how long you've been with your partner?

Reason I ask this is because on the 6th of this month, Tammy and I will have been together for seven months now. However we started dating on the 6th of January this year.

So, is it seven months or eight?

Do I count it from the 6th of the month to the 6th of the next month, or take it as a whole month and call eight months?

I was speaking to Tammy yesterday and I said:

"So in seven days time, we would've been together for seven months now"

So she turns round and says:

"No, isn't it eight months now?"

So ya, I was wondering how other people count it or work it out?

Still seven months now! woohoo!

No, Afrikaans people count it the same, I'm not Afrikaans either.

I know it's simple maths. I always took it from the 6th to the 6th as a month. However someone I know counts differently so i was just asking. :rolleyes:

Actually I disagree with that!

When you're born, you should be nine months old or so. Not one day or a couple hours old as you still are alive and living inside your mother.

So your age and birthday are screwed then as you would celebrate the date your parents got jiggy not the date you were squeezed out into the world.

I realise what you're saying. However I know it's too deep to change it now and will always be like that. Anyway, still disagree with it.

Thanks, I knew it was seven months. Like I say was just checking what a friend said to me. So if it was on the 1st it would be 8 months now.

(I think its been that long anyway!! Very bored sitting at home which is why I have put the effort in to working it out!! If I'm wrong I'm sorry!!)

You're right, it has been seven months. I really think this will last a very very long time as we're both deeply in love with each other.

So should I be worried that I know when and where our first kiss was, what date and time, also her birthday, the date we started going out. The exact number of days we've been together?
