How do you count it?

Good morning all,

I was wondering, how do you count or tell how long you've been with your partner?

Reason I ask this is because on the 6th of this month, Tammy and I will have been together for seven months now. However we started dating on the 6th of January this year.

So, is it seven months or eight?

Do I count it from the 6th of the month to the 6th of the next month, or take it as a whole month and call eight months?

I was speaking to Tammy yesterday and I said:

"So in seven days time, we would've been together for seven months now" :)

So she turns round and says:

"No, isn't it eight months now?"

So ya, I was wondering how other people count it or work it out?

Still seven months now! woohoo! :D:D :cool:

Men have grey hairs the less you have the longer its been.

If you can't count the grey hairs your bald and its been far too long :D

:o I say 7 months unless Afrikaans counting is different :)

Ok so you started at it in Jan 6th yes?

So thats :-

Feb 1
March 2
April 3
May 4
June 5
July 6
August 7

Think of it like this, when you are born you are not born the age of 1, you have to stick about for 12months before you are 1 :)

I know it's simple maths. I always took it from the 6th to the 6th as a month. However someone I know counts differently so i was just asking. :rolleyes:

Actually I disagree with that!

When you're born, you should be nine months old or so. Not one day or a couple hours old as you still are alive and living inside your mother.

Thats how the do it over here in korea...your age runs from conception rather than birth...

I prefer our system...

Incidentally the girls over here dont have monthly anniversaries, they count relationships by the DAYS!!!! 100 days is a big date :o

So your age and birthday are screwed then as you would celebrate the date your parents got jiggy not the date you were squeezed out into the world.

I realise what you're saying. However I know it's too deep to change it now and will always be like that. Anyway, still disagree with it.

Thanks, I knew it was seven months. Like I say was just checking what a friend said to me. So if it was on the 1st it would be 8 months now.
 
I dont count in months at all because the months have different amount of days in them so I count in weeks which I suppose you could translate into months. So from the 6th of Jan it has been 28 weeks, 4 days so if you said 4 weeks to every month

7 months and a four days.

Congrats anyway, you seem pretty pleased with yourself about how long it has lasted!! Keep it going!!

(I think its been that long anyway!! Very bored sitting at home which is why I have put the effort in to working it out!! If I'm wrong I'm sorry!!)

Until you become self aware and are born, you are not alive. The idea that you are nine months old, the moment you are born is ridiculous :)
