How do you delete MBR ?

I want to completely erase my laptop hdd and also delete its MBR before i do a fresh install.

Can anyone explain how i do this ? I have tried DBAN and my laptop doesnt boot it fully and comes up with an error.

Any other ways i can do this ?

If you have a floppy drive use win98se boot disk and when its loaded
Type in fdisk and follow the prompts i.e delete the partion or make partion.
Then you can format it.

Do a google for win98se boot dics and you will find a site do download it from.

Do you know if i go into dos and type fdisk /mbr will that delete the MBR ?

Also i have this boot cd where i can wipe disk, i tried it and it said it deleted all partitions and now its wiping (1 pass).

fdisk /mbr - rewrites the boot block to the default windows one
