How do you find new music?

I've a sonos system in my house that seems to be on all the time. I usually just use spotify or Rhapsody and choose new releases or recommended.

I go to gigs (support acts are always one way of discovering new stuff) and then go to gigs that I would perhaps not ordinarily go to, keep my ears open, use Shazam, see what friends are listening to, look up genres and there'll be lists of bands within the genres. Listening to youtube videos of things I already like and there'll often be suggestions there or the person whose channel it is will have different stuff on it so I just check them out.

These days, mainly through going to gigs. Running a record label means I have to keep my ear to the ground locally.

Also through various other bands I like and who they tour with.

Because I have a hand in running a music website I get a ton of music every day, most of it is trash but I've picked up a lot of great American acts that way.

I use Allmusic.com a lot in finding bands who are like bands that I enjoy or bands who influenced them.

Also spotify has been good found lots of bands through the related artists button.
