How do you find playing on a large screen?

I found with having a 40" Sammy anything over 24" is a wast as picture quality looks worse on a bigger screen due to non of the games on the 360 or PS3 supporting full 1080p.

/\ Agreed.

I personally don't like gaming on large screens on consoles as I find it tends to make the graphics look quite poor, when I replaced my TV I could have had anything up to 50" but I choose a 32" as I find that to be a good size for current gen consoles (as long as you room isn't to big), I tend to only sit a few feet away from the screen anyway.

I have a projector @ 92" for the odd game that I think works well at that size, hotshots golf for example works well on a projector as it actually makes it easier planning out your shots, playing in two player is great, I keep meaning to get some laser pointers so it makes it easier to explain our shot planning without having to get up.

Watchtower: But that still comes back to your seating location for the most part. generally you sit further away from a large screen than you would say a 24". so the quality of the image that you actually see shouldnt change too much (this is not taking into account each screen's specs, panel type, viewing angles etc etc etc)

So not everyone is like me and sits one foot from the screen?:D

I sit around 10 feet away from my 102" projector, It does have its draw backs as you have to physically move your head sometimes.

Same here. I actually reduced my screen from 114" to 102" as my eyes were getting sore in fps and action movies. For things like SF4, rpgs etc I find you can't get big enough!

I'd love a screen the size of the entire wall and a 4-way masking system to mask up according to the source. I don't have a spare 20k though

interesting theories on screen size affecting aim

i think you might be right, i'm on 37" and it can be tough sometimes

I have my 360 on a small 19" HDTV in my room. Have moved it down to my 42" plasma a few times, and it does look a lot better, but i just can't play as well for some reason.

As you guys mention it would obviously take time to get use to, but i prefer having a smaller screen and sitting closer to it.

I actually much prefer playing my 360 on my NEC 27" monitor, am sitting much closer to it. With my normal TV I'm sitting quite far away and am used to PC gaming on my monitor so much prefer it.

thats the whole point, if you have a huge screen(40"+) you need to sit atleast 8+ feet away from it but if your like me and game on your pc monitor and sit at the desk then 22" is more than enough, its all about where you are going to be viewing it from, you dont want the screen on which your gaming to take up any more than 50% of your view or else youll have to move your head to see the extremes of the picture.

Unless you play competitively I think its a good thing to have to do especially in FPS's as your effectivly seeing everything they see without having to see any wall paper or what ever all around your view.

What ever the science behind it viewing space wise, can't say I've ever felt hampered using a 42" as a pc monitor.
