How do you generally set up controls?

intresting thread

i still use arrows to move forward, backwards and strafe
Middle mouse for USE
Left mouse for fire
right button for aim
mouse (thumb1) as sprint
Mouse (thumb2) for talk in TS3
scroll wheel and Delete,End and Page down keys are set to a specific weapon
Keyboard pad 1 as flashlight
Keyboard pad 4 as reload

I use one of these and assign keys per game. Each game has a profile:

For me I've found thi better than any mouse upgrade in terms of improving gaming.

Having 6 buttons within 1cm of your thumb, a roller wheel on your left hand as well as your right etc etc.....

I also use it for shortcuts/macro's for my music software and it works well.

Can imagine some people still prefer keyboards but I am definitely a fan of this. There are a few variations from different companies that all look good.

i usually keep all the buttons on the kb stock but add grenade stun grenade crouch and melee to my mouse so when playing a fast game online i can melee grenade etc with kb or mouse, whatever i hit first :D

Varies a little per game, so if a feature of a game uses one of my custom keys I generally tend to leave it alone unless it bugs me.
WASD for moving.
Shift -Movement pace e.g. Run
Left Alt - Crouch, personally I find it the easiest compared to any other keys + toggle on.
Mouse button for melee, maps, grenades.
When aiming downsight on firearms i have toggle off i.e. let go of RMB returns to hip fire.
Q to switch between firearm/previously used weapon.

For cod I have "q" for melee, "e" for prone (I'm not one of those **** who drops to the floor every time he sees someone, just like to have it handy), ctrl for crouch, middle mouse for grenade and "c" for flashbang.

I overhaul the lot and after reading the other responses I feel like a freak! :D

Space- Crouch
Alt- Jump
Shift-Sprint
Caps - Push to talk
Ctrl- Prone
MMB- Melee
SMB1- Pistol
SMB2- Nades
X-Fire mode
1 - Map
F- Use
C/Z/V/\ -Equipment
Q/E - Lean if not as above.

Although I wish all games would make double tap 'W' for sprint.

W - Move Forward
S - Move Backward
A - Strafe Left
D - Strafe Right
Space Bar - Jump
Ctrl - Crouch
Shift - Sprint
C - Prone
Left Mouse - Attack
Right Mouse - Secondary attack/ADS
Middle Mouse - Melee attack
F - Flashlight/Grenade
G - Grenade
E - Use/Action
R - Reload
Q - Fast weapon switch/Alternate Action

Tab - Display Scoreboard
Mouse button 4 - Ventrilo/Communication

that's certainly something different;)

i take it nobody uses the default Q+E= Lean left and right that you get on some games. Always change that myself
