I just bought a new ADSL Router, the Thompson Speedtouch 546 and was wondering how to get the line stats everyone keeps posting.

I cant find any options to do this, i just plugged the ethernet cable, in turned it on, entered my login details and that was that....nothing else installed like diagnostic tools, the router isnt even listed in device properties.

Theres nothing on the installation CD either.

You'll need to go into the router's interface and look for it. Login to the router (router's never show up on a PC anywhere, well they can do, but I'm not going into that!). You know like how you put in the username and password, you need to access the router - look for the stats somewhere in the interface.

The router doesnt have an interface, infact the box where i entered my login details has never appeared again, and there dosent seem to be a way of bringing it back up on screen....

Thnx.... is this were i configure the router for correct torrent use?.

I use Utorrent and its telling me that the port is not open, yet its still allowing downloads but are they running at a reduced speed because of this?....

Arrrgghhh!!!!...why cant things just work ffs.

If you router has port forwarding options then you use this to open ports.
If the port is blocked this will reduce the speed a lot, or your isp might have traffic shaping.
