How do you get past creative block?

The problem is, if I'm working on a project and try to distract myself with anything, I'm still constantly thinking about said project. I have no idea why :D

This is probably a good thing. I'm certainly prone to the same "problem". Most of the above advice is means of getting your conscious mind away from the task as this gives the mysterious subconscious processes time to work their magic.

Going to sleep doesn't work well here, I just lie down and think about the project. Exercise works well because it deprives your brain of oxygen. Cycling, running, rowing - something sufficiently cardiovascularly intense that it's difficult to think in general. That usually does the trick for me.

Exercise might be a good idea :) thanks.

Hey guys.

So, I'm sat here working on a new electro track, things are going really well, and it's sounding great. However, I am now stuck on it, and I can't think of what to add to give it that proper high end level of production. I get this sort of creative block a lot - even though I get ideas for how tracks should sound like, I can't transfer that to the production.

So, do any of you get creative block, and how do you get round it? :)

That will get the wrong sort of juices flowing ...

A bit of criticism.. Use a low pass filter and cross fade back to normal for the build up.. It seems too "safe" at the moment.
