I know even the 7800 had video IN that worked even though it was not stated on the box.

There are no WDM drivers for 8800 so how can you get video IN to work?

I recon the card has this capability even though manufactuers don't flaunt it.

AIT is proud of VIVO so whats wrong with nvidia...

You sure your card is VIVO, not sure if any 8800's are, ATI do not call their's VIVO thats Nvidia's name for Video In/Video Out.

Nope, My TI4600 had VIVO, Nvidia said no to 6800Ultras having it but XFX brought out a 6800Ultra 512Mb and added VIVO, and 8000's are made by same company to try keep uniformed, not sure on what Nvidia told 7000 makers but I suppose they could have ignored and added VIVO.

See the old story about all cards being the same with a diff sticker on them was BS before the 8000's, the makers were sold Nvidia chips, they were told in tight specs what to add to the PCB, some liked Red (Gainward) instead of Nvidia Green and some used Infin ram instead of Nvidia rec of Samsung, and used cheap CAP's etc, I think thats why Nvidia now control the 8000's as a lot of the 7900 card had major issues, and involved recalls for mods to parts on PCB's.

AFAIK from looking at the specs there are no VI capabilities built into the 8800 series. Unless the board manufactures have put a third part capture chip on the card it won't work.

I think VI was never an effective bonus, for those people who had a more than a passing need it was much better to get a separate capture card.

And they wont on the 8000's, all are made for Nvidia by a partner, the diff Vendors only add sticker and their own Bios, and very few like EVGA add a special cooler to some models.
