How do you get your daily satisfaction/happiness?

I like it when I do well at school and in tests. Other than that I am usually just bored, as with exams coming closer I am reluctant to commit to activities as they might interfere with my revision, and thus I would not attain the necessary results; I have set some pretty high targets (acheivable, but high), and thus the time between finishing the syllabi, and beginning revision, has been a nervous and boring one.

Other than that I am generally completely bored, and I usually do nothing except go on the internet, and lift weights.

I enjoy driving, a lot.

I feel better about myself when I've got a task to do, such as writing up some work or cleaning up. I do enjoy not doing anything (such as relaxing, washing the car, watching TV etc).

Hugging and kissing my kids.
Being given something by my daughter (son too young to walk/talk) to take to work (e.g. picture to colour in or one of her toys).
Going out for a summer evening beer with friends.
Sometimes it just seems inside me... can't explain that one.

Theres no such thing as a good or bad day for me really. Im too laid-back/optimistic/in a world of my own to be bothered by little things like poor exam results or getting into a fight/argument with someone.

At the end of the day im usually thinking "only <x> more days until <next significant even in my life> (like going home to see friends/family, going out with friends here etc)"

Thats not to say there is not a lot more suffering in these countries but people are certainly more alive than the ones you see on the train.

Rubbish. Just because people aren't rolling in the aisles in glee at the joy of being well fed and clothed doesn't mean they're in some way less 'alive' than people in the 3rd world.

I'd rather be sat on the tube, outwardly grim looking while having a nice, quiet internal ponder about things than be some pathetically grateful wretch on the verge of starvation, laughing and smiling because someone with a bag of food and TV camera had given me some grains of corn.

Telescopi hit the nail on the head - there's nothing more demoralising than doing nothing. It may seem appealing for a short period, but inactivity and spending your time unproductively leads to more stress, depression and self loathing than being busy.

You clearly don't understand what I mean by "alive"....doesn't matter.
