How do you know which voltage to set?

Hi all,

I've never really understood the workings of a PSU.
Is there a way to tell in bios if my system is getting enough power? How much power should you give LDT, Chipset and Dram?

I can view the current voltage each component is getting but how do I know if its enough? For example, i can see my chipset is using 1.56v and I have it set to 1.56 so I know it cannot use anymore - but what if it needs more?

I hope all that makes sense,
Any help appreciated.

Er, if in doubt, leave at defaults tbh. You only need to raise them if you overclock.

Thanks for reply - do you mean 'optimal defaults' or auto?
Ive herd a lot of people say, 'my 12v rails are stable' - how are they checking?

Any help much appreciated,

They're not checking it in any way.
BIOS/software isn't very reliable.

So, am I right in saying system stability is the only sure way of checking if everything is getting enough juice?
