I had some Sennheiser in ear thingys, but ever since getting a pair of Phillips x1s I've not been able to use the in ears without being shocked by the poor quality.

However the x1s are big. I can only lay on my back with them on which often means I end up turning off the music before then end of an album because of discomfort which is a shame.

How about you?

Sennheiser inears (1-2 really cheap models aside) usually have fairly good sound quality - unless they are fakes which isn't that unusual with the CX line :S

I listen to music in bed (if not using speakers) using a pair of Sennheiser MX580 and aside from lacking the bass of larger headphones you'd swear you were listening to 40mm drivers and sound quality to match.

EDIT: Also the X1s are quite "warm" sounding headphones which many people prefer from the listening experience POV whereas Sennheisers tend to have a drier, harsher more "analytical" sound signature which isn't always the best listening experience depending on taste.

Don't do it very often but when I do I just turn on the radio and now Fire TV plays some of the music collection. I prefer to read in bed.

usually listen via either my phone or sony walkman mp3 player with a set of yamaha eph-100 iems.

I think they are great but not as comfortable as my brainwavez m3s.

akg k81dj's and lay on my back.

if i desperately feel the need to lay on my side, i wedge a pillow so that the headphone doesn't mash into my head.

Recently listened to rain through an app to help me sleep.
The earphones arent that great, but I kind of make a gap between two pillows for my ear :P
