Hi,
Me and the missus have been having an on-going argument about this for the last couple of weeks. She makes tea by putting the teabag and water in first and then the milk and I make it the other way around.

Which way's better!?

I was taught to not put the milk in till after the tea had brewed because it blocks up the holes in the tea bag. My Gran Mother used to flip at the idea of even making tea in a cup, always had to be in a tea pot.

Tea Bag + Water = Brew.
Brew + Sugar + milk = Tea.

B.S.A. White with 2 Sugars.

I will add that putting Milk in Tea comes from the fact that hot Tea used to make the China cups crack so adding milk cooled it a tad.

Yup, I'm with the majority so far. Water and tea bag, brew it to strength, then take out the tea bag and add milk.

Warm teapot by swishing round some boiling water.

Add tea. Tea, not teabags. One spoonful per person, plus one for the pot.

Add boiling water. Leave to brew.

Add a little milk to cup, pour tea into cup.

Provide sugar for whoever is drinking it to add to their own taste, because personally, I don't drink tea.

Afterwards, rinse but don't wash the teapot.

This one crops up every few month or soo..

Cup,
pour in hot water in to heat cup,
remove water,
put the tea bag in,
pour in fresh hot water,
leave for 1 minute, Do not leave in sppon otherwise it will displace the hest.
Remove bag,
Poor in milk (optional) or Slice of lemon!

Enjoy!!

If we've got the vicar round :D

Has to be a teapot. Otherwise, its just not worth the effort. Might as well just surrender your British passport and go live in yankeeland tbh.

Sweetners in cup
Milk in cup
Boil water
Put teabags in teapot
Put boiled water in teapot
Let to brew a minute
Pour into cups/mugs

Simple

Traditionaly, as I understand, when we first started making tea the peasants had cheapy china cups that would crack when hot water/tea was poured, so to solve this they poured their milk in first. The rich people had fancy china cups that wouldn't crack so they poured the tea in first and toped up with milk.
