I thought I would give win7 firewal a go, but no matter what I do, it wont block any program from the net. Im thinking the built in firewall is fake, hehe.

You guys try blocking something like firefox with the win7 firewall,,,,, It just doesn't block it. why?

Windows7FirewallControl is good - it basically sits on top of the Windows firewall interface (so it's very light weight) and gives you pop-up notifications to block/allow programs etc.

Windows firewall definitely works. Are you sure you're blocking the right exe, as an outboud rule not inbound?

Ive been trying for about 2hrs to get it blocking firefox, but it dont want to know,, prob you could help me,, as Ive tried it 2 ways, from the "allow a program or feature through windows firewall" and the "Advanced settings" but neither will block toffee, let alone firefox..hehe

I managed to get mine to block firefox (firefox still starts, but it stops web pages from loading) I used the advanced settings -> Outbound -> New Rule -> Program -> Browsed for firefox -> Then block connection and it worked fine.

Thats working for me too now,, I think it was cos I was blocking both, Inbound and outbound..
