Hi all,

How do you make your 'Smoothies' at home?

Do you use a Juicer or a Blender?

Thanks

Hand Blender.

Had a proper Smoothie maker once, but all it was really was a blender with a tap on the end so that the smoothie could pour out, but it was a mess to clean.

Or just add ice:eek:.

You could do.
But then most supermarkets now sell bags of frozen fruit, including some mixed ones designated as smoothie mix. It's good because it's frozen while fresh, so you don't have to worry about buying, or having fresh fruit go off all the time if you want a smoothie everyday. Not to mention, you also get it nice and chilled.

Use a blender + orange juice/apple juice + frozen strawberries/mango/berry mix+1 fresh banana = best smoothie ever. Make sure that you use frozen fruits and cold juice so the smoothie comes quite thick, it tastes way better than a runny smoothie.

I was thinking mines a blender, but then realised its called Kenwood smoothie 2 go so maybe not :o. Frozen fruit in it is awesome :)

Or just add ice:eek:.

No, that just makes it watery slush. It's almost impossible to get a good smoothie when out because too many places do that. :(

Smoothie should consist of frozen fruit (left on the side for half an hour to melt a little), fresh fruit (small amount, such as banana), yoghurt (sometimes) and a fruit juice base. No ice or any other cheap/mass producing concoctions.

I normally use fresh fruit chopped up and frozen into portions (in a tub with tin foil seperating layers), however pre frozen fruit is fine most of the time, just the pre frozen mango seems to be very bitty instead of smooth, leaving a nasty almost grainy texture to the smoothie.
