How do you play games?

Back when I used to play PS2 I was dead serious on games like GTA 3, saving and reloading when dead or arrested. But now I play on PC I only play multiplayer, exception is BF4 got to unlock some guns for multiplayer so just smashing through single player fast as ****.

I am a terrible hoarder in games. In a game like Baldurs gate, I will finish the game with an arsenal of unused potions/wands/special ammo etc, which I will have picked up during the game and thought "I'll just save that for a Boss or something later on" but never ever use. I will end up playing most games with just default basic gear right through to the end.

I tend to just play though naturally, then if I enjoyed it, go back and pick up the collectables/achievements and try the "alternate" option to what I initially chose at crossroad points. Usually the second play through involves just putting it on the easiest setting so I can just sit back and enjoy it rather than the harder grind of my first play through.

Me too! I hate it when you save up all this gear, and then there is be a big 'ammo room' just before a boss fight meaning you could have used up your luxury consumables and simply replenished them :( Feels like it caters too much for players who wasted all their best gear, although I can understand the reasoning (ensuring that people don't end up facing a boss without much hope of defeating them).

I used to have to collect everything 100%, but I'd rather just have fun now. Like Battlefield 4, single player, I found a few collectibles but when I couldn't find the others (and looked them up on Youtube and some were in RIDICULOUS places!) I'd rather run through the game and enjoy it as much as possible rather than combing the area for some hidden nothing.

Skyrim, I wander around for days picking stuff up and exploring. I think it was about 6 days before I completed a quest :D I had the best flower collection ever, and I occasionally got punted across the area by a giant :D

Normally I try to find everything possible before moving on to the next area in any game, although when it comes to the newer fad of achievements, I generally don't care if I get those or not, but occasionally get bored and re-do the level/area to see if I can get it. I plan on doing this in BF4. I just completed the single player and noticed I missed a dog tag by not getting a good completion or something, on the early levels.

Also, for difficulty, depending on how I feel when I install the game, I'll either (and normally) start with the default setting, when complete drop it down to easy, complete that, then do it again on hard. Some of the games I have though are WAY too difficult to be enjoyable at hardest settings and I play to relax, not be peed off at home as well as work :D

Generally, I try stealthy, and if it fails, fight my way out. I tend to just go with the flow in games. This is why I hate a lot of games that fail you for not playing a game as they want you to. Assassin's Creed 4 being the latest example.

I never, ever plan anything either. I prefer to just let things develop naturally. If I am playing something like X-Com or CIV for example, I don't care about build orders. I build what seems best at the time, and when it is finished, whatever seems best then. I have a lot more fun this way.

In X-com, I ignore the main quest/path so I can play lots of missions and fully build everything, level up a load of soldiers and with EW now, I'm making an army of mechs and psi people :D When I've got enough top end characters, I'll build that arc thrower :p

This pretty much.

In stealth games though If I get caught sneaking I just go on a rampage and kill everyone because it annoys me having to restart from a save all the time.. Can't remember the last game I played that made me do this though but it wasn't my fault but the AI's.. I sort of like the forced stealth in some games though as you can instantly restart if you fail where as in others it can be an absolute chore reloading a save.

I like games that are hard and you can stealth around but if confronted can only take down 1 of them etc.
