Why does any pronunciation matter? If "overclockers" was pronounced as "starfish" it wouldn't matter as long as enough people knew that was how it was pronounced. It wouldn't really matter if some people pronounced it "starfish" and some people pronounced it "stirfry" as long as enough people knew those were alternative pronunciations of "overclockers". For example, the correct spelling of Enya's name is "Eithne". That didn't matter until she started to become known outside of Ireland and then it only mattered because not enough people knew how "Eithne" was pronounced. Which still didn't really matter, but it made some aspects of her career easier to use an Anglicised spelling.
But some people find variations in pronunciation interesting enough to ask a question on a forum about the variation in pronunciation, whether or not it matters.
