How do you pronounce Linux?

Is it 'Linnucks' or 'Line-ucks'

Just wondered, don't think I've ever said it out loud to another geek before and I've got an interview at What Laptop magazine next week, just don't want to sound like a chump

I read in readers digest years ago when it all came out that it was pronounced 'lee-nux'. So close to your first guess.

I have that problem with a lot of open source stuff. Mostly it's because of the way Americans pronounce it.

GUI = gooey
GNU = GaNoo
Gnome = GaNome

Etcetera. Can't bring myself to say them that way.

Surely it would be spelt lineux if it was supposed to be pronounced Line-ucks

Linn-ucks, with emphasis on the Linn so its like Linux
