How do you refer to your uncles/ aunts

I refer to my Uncle Kevin as Unk when i'm winding him up, but normally it's Kev or Kevin, Don't have any Aunties left so, wouldn't know lol

I've had 32 Aunties & Uncles with only 13 of them alive now and I called all of them Aunty & Uncle except for 1 who married my Aunty when I was an adult.
So I'm 53 and still call 12 of them Aunty & Uncle.
My cousins are also the same so when referring to my Mum they will call her Aunty Marg and the eldest is 62.

just to put it out there, its more a respect thing, why not call your mom/dad by their names either?

in asian culture, we "think" its respectful to not call people (Older than us) by their name and instead say uncle, auntie etc etc

It's only a mark of respect if the recipient believes it is. I think in modern British culture the terms are more descriptive than honorific. That was kind of my reason in starting this thread - to see if I was unusual in using first names. By the answers I would say I'm not!

Incidently I absoloutely cringe when I hear Asian people referring to non-relatives as "auntie"/ "uncle"! I do understand the reasoning, I just think it sounds stupid.

Uncle and uncle always. Of course for different cultures theres different names so its not just uncle and aunt:
Mother's sisters and brothers are called something different to fathers.
Maternal aunt's husband is called something different to paternal aunt's husband, same for aunts.
An uncle who is younger than you is called something different too.

And so on...
