Malware is not something I get, it has been a long time since I got anything and then my antivirus software (Kaspersky) picked it up straight away and as it was in a zipped file there was not much of a chance infecting my install, simply deleted it.

Same here,

It's fine to be overprotective of course but for me it's a little OTT.

Resident AVAST and weekly scans with Mallwarebytes, Spybot, CCLeaner and of course a monthly full AVAST scan results in a completely clean and smooth running system all the time.

Haven't had anything picked up by my AV for years, but if I do have anything (or have reason to think something dodgy may be on a PC) I'll clean install it every time.

A reinstall doesn't take me very long and it's good for piece of mind :)

It also has a high level of false positives after first install which people need to be aware of because they may go removing things that are important.

On Vista64 for example it thinks that the

> Default.sfx in the WinRAR 64bit directory is a trojan
> An active desktop flag in the registry is a hijack
> Gigabyte's latest gigabit ethernet (Realtek) driver installer containing a trojan.

Naturally these all need to be whitelisted manually.
