Its a celeron 1.1 socket 370

All others i've seen have a handel but not this baby.

The plastic tabs either side say SKT open and SKT close but i've tried pulling/pushing and can't shift it.

Is there trick?

Ok, got the old one out but how does the new fit in? The pin slots are slits and the cpu falls into the gap next to the joins in the socket.

should i be ligning the pin to the sockets and pushing down or droping into the gap and pushing accross?

Sorry about the n00b syle questions but been an AMD fanboy tillthis old lappy :D

Google says you just push it in, taking care to push straight down so as not to damage the pins. See if you cant google up a manual for that mobo.

Can't see a manual.

The problem is that the CPU drops straight in, no pushing. Like on a socket with an arm but no arm to lock it with :(

Once you have dropped the CPU into the socket, you have to push the CPU down until it doesn't fall out any more... don't be afraid, they often need quite some force. Make sure you push it straight down though.
