How do you say what your monitor resolution is?

    1280x1024 = twelve eighty by thousand twenty four
    1024x768 = thousand twenty four by seven six eight

    Right same subject well 'ish.

    My Bro in law and i had an argument about the name a few years ago about some video software called 'Xing' (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Xing)

    He said it was pronounced 'zing' and i thought it was 'crossing' any idea guys?

    Sorry to hijack the thread a little, and i know its not really monitor based, but the end product does end up on a monitor :confused:

    If your not interested in how you pronounce it, you should still have a quick read about Xing, its a good bit of history about video on PC's and how it eventually seriously affected the DVD industry.

    definitly pronounced "zing"

    no word ive ever heard of with an X at the start, sounds like "cross" lol

    xylophone is a perfect example.

    1680x1050 = one six eighty by one o fifty
    1600x1200 = one six hundred by one two hundred
    1280x1024 = one two eighty by one o two four
    1024x768 = one o two four by seven six eight
    800x600 = eight hundred by six hundred
    640x480 = six forty by four eighty

    can't be bothered to type up the others :p
