I've got a spice carousel, but I've found that I'm not overly convinced that the jars are particularly air tight so I suspect I'm losing the flavour pretty quickly.

I've been looking without much success and the best I've come up with is:-

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cole-Mason-...qid=1388258363&sr=8-5&keywords=spice+carousel

Though it looks like the herb names are etched into the top which is a pain as I would ditch some and replace them with something else.

Anyone got any other suggestions of something similar that has a decent seal on the jars?

Carousels are for people who want to show off and don't particularly care about the longevity or quality of their herbs and spices.

If you've really got a suitable varied selection that warrants so much storage, you'd be best advised to use something like these and store the spices away from both heat and light.

70ml jars? Those are tiny man.

I tend to do a 120ml minimum, half pinters for the common spices I big in bigger bags. Kilner jars all the way, just write what it is on the front in paint pen.
Got my own racking in the pantry although I have been debating for a while making a magnetic spice holder, basically strong magnets glued to the jars and a big sheet of metal to stick them on.

"The range" do cheap kilner jars.

Went for the Kilner jars in the end, the 70ml ones are just the right size to hold a refill/jar from the supermarket.

I use a mixture of small flip lid jars (these are able to stand upright in my drawers) and larger flip lid jars (Ikea jobbies) for more common / regularly used spices.

I have access to a Roland sp540 printer which allows me to print my labels and contour cut them to any size / shape.

This was a batch I did for a friend. Will try and get some pics up of mine

All they are is some flip lid jars from kitchens with some labels. Granted being able to print them them and cut them is the big advantage. These labels were 35mm in diameter so I basically set up a A4 template with 30 labels on each and just edited them. Great thing about these is they are on a printable vinyl with EcoSol ink, meaning you can wipe them clean. Not sure how popular they would be to start selling them!

This is what they look like out of the drawer

I do the same as lego but with mini Kilner jars and some less fancy round labels I bought from Amazon. Would love some of those labels.

I'm in the office tomorrow, I'll have an ask to see if I can get away with running off a few batches for cost. If people are interested then post here and I can see what I can do. (If you want your own sizes / colours you will need to have a basic knowledge of illustrator / coral)

Really like the looks of those lego. :)

Where's the best place to buy spices?

There's an 'asian'* supermarket in Southsea that sells loads of stuff in big bags at low prices which seems to be miles better than the regular supermarket but is there anywhere else I should be looking?

*I say 'asian' because they have food and ingredients from all over the world. It's an amazing little shop.

Also if you could Stan could you measure the diameter of the stickers, or of the best fitting stickers. Thanks
