.. that he is a complete tit?

A (goodish) friend of mine just past his test (8ish weeks ago) however hes only 18 (if it make a difference) and has a 1.2 clio (R reg) and within the last 2 weeks he has (while I been with/in convoy etc);

1) Curbed @ 50ish in a 30 (he was catching up to me, i wasn't speeding)

2) Went though a no entry sign because he was worried the cops were following him

3) Nearly rear ended me up the a5 (dual carriage way)

4) Spun out on a mini roundabout

5) Crashed into a tree in a car park trying to do hand brake turns

And good knows what else. So do I try to tell him that hes a tit or just let him get on with it?

(And yes i was once a LITTLE like this but no where as bad and within a few days of the first scary moment calmed down)

Let him get on with it, the more you tell him he's a tit the more he's likely to do it.

One day he'll either have A) a nasty scare or B) a nasty accident which will calm him down a touch.

I had a couple mates who were doing similar (I messed a little too, but imo safely), although never actually caused any damage.

Just told them they were being prats. Some other people who I wasn't as close to, well...crashed :p

If he doesn't listen, let him get on with it and don't convey with him, simple.

Its easy for me to sit here like some grumpy old git and whinge about these new drivers but between me passing my test and spinning my car on a wet muddy country road due to me thinking I was Damon Hill was less than 4 weeks :o

Well i did get a SP30 within a week but was no where as crazy as him

Aye cant be arsed with it all now im getting old.. plus dont think he'll want to convoy with a galaxy in a few weeks!

Not much you can do really, warn him he's driving a bit TOO madly, we all go have some fun after passing but not to dangerous extremes in most cases, and in future, drive behind HIM! and keep your distance!

"its only a tree"

Tell him to drive head first into that tree and see what happens.

I was lucky when I had my crash as the back end swung out and hit a lamp post. That made quite a nice sized dent in the bootlid. I'd hate to see what would have happened if it'd been a tree that I hit.

And how do you spin out on a mini-roundabout? Aren't mini-roundabouts tiny, or are you just thinking of a small roundabout? I sometimes try and purposely kick the back-end out on wet roundabouts and can't always manage it, so he must drive like an absolutely moron.

indeed, how on earth do you manage to spin a 1.2 clio on a mini roundabout, I couldn't manage that if I tried.
And do you mean he actually ran into a kerb at 50mph .

Guy sounds like a liability, crashing into a tree would deffo be my cue to stop doing stupid ****.

As has been said above, to say 'its only a tree' is pretty stupid...trees can do a lot more damage to a car, then the car does to a tree (wrote off my fiesta - tree bark was rubbed off, that was it...)
