How do you Think of a Gamer Name?

My Grandad always called me clartymarty for some reason so that stuck for me, but now I can be called Clarticus lol - at the time I was watching sparticus blood and sand and thought it sounded kinda cool
 
I usually try Macgyver. I used rfd for a long time in counter-strike as its my initials :o. Then when I started playing competitively I used Shadowgeezer.
 
This was by 11 year old brainwave for an MSN name that i've wanted rid of for years now. Only problem is if I cant use my real name in a game/forum then I'm too lazy to think of something better
 
Bubo comes from the yellow monster that occasionally appeared in the cartoon Trapdoor, I loved that kids tv prog and for some reason grew highly attached to this particular character.

If that is taken I use the name Succorso. This comes from a character in the Stephen Donalson book The Gap. I thought it was a cool sounding name, even though things don't actually turn out too well for the character in the end.

I also went though a phase of calling myslef Dr Scrote, after the Roland Rivron character who semi regularly appeared on Jonathon Ross Last Resort.

Oh yeah, that reminds me why I chose the name I go by here (and which I occasionally use in MP games, too - though not as often as Intercourse the Penguin).

As a kid I loved Jamie and the Magic Torch. One of the characters was Strumpers Blunkett, a big fat red jazz loving creature with no trousers who played his own nose like a saxophone. Unfortunately in my head his name was Strumpusplunket, not Strumpers Blunkett so that's what I called myself.

I can pretty much guarantee it's never going to be taken by anyone else...
 
Being a scientist myself, mine is simple. I simply 'borrowed' the name of the greatest fictional scientist of all time, and a boyhood hero of mine - Quatermass!

I've always been called Snips, lastname is Parsons, so it stuck and just used that. 86 is my DOB year & x was the only available character when I first created the username a very long time ago!
 
I use the same randomly picked letters as my username for everything.

Other forums, gamer tags, player names, email address etc etc.
 
Mine came from way back in 1997 when I needed a username for Yahoo chat. Davey_Pitch is a variation of my full name, and it's just stuck ever since. It's never taken either, so if you ever see the name online or on the internet anywhere, there's a damn good chance it's me. The only change I've ever made to it was taking the underscore out, so it's often DaveyPitch instead.

Also, to pick your name. Throw a bowel of alphabetti spaghetti at the wall and see what it spells.

Its a win win situation, a delicious meal and a new name.
