just curious regarding the title

i have installed:
Firefox Aurora - Main Browser, Use for general usage & watching youtube
Chrome - 9 tabs Pinned - load it up every so often check those 9 tabs then lleave it running or close it.

most tabs openned in one browser is 10 i believe

Firefox
These forums, several tabs (4 perhaps?)
Reddit with a couple of tabs.
BBC News.

That's about all I have open constantly but sitting on Reddit and these forums so that creates a few more.

When I'm web deving that's a completely different story.

I don't leave stuff open - I 'open all bookmarks' on various folders depending on what sort of stuff I want to check. Then I'll close tabs one-by-one until eventually the browser closes and I'm done. Can check loads of sites in a few seconds this way - I'm lucky to have a fast connection.

Chrome upto about 10 tabs then ill have clean up, which may mean:

Copy and paste the URL of the most relevant tab as my new starting window
or
closing all "dead" tabs down to just 1.

It makes no sense at all

the GF has about 40 tabs open in FF... it drives me mad if i use her PC, i put Chrome on it so i just fire that up and stay away from her organised chaos..

I never have more than a few open, I don't see the point of having loads open.
I have seen people with 30+ open and the time it takes them to find the one they want I could have opened a bookmark faster

Firefox - 1/2 tabs, usually the second tab being something to reference at/linked from the first tab. When researching something though it can go to as many as 10 tabs split over two windows.

Viewing updates on S.Charms, about 20+ at a time or until they become very small on my screen as they crush together (IE11). :o

Depending on what Im doing (local Server GUI's etc) which arent always open, but when they are I can have 4 or 5 tabs open just to do a few jobs etc (and the live internet links describing what Im trying to accomplish)

Otherwise a BBC tab, a NewsNow tab, and possibly one or two forums like this one.

At work I always have 4 or 5, with a couple of leisure ones thrown in at the end lol

(edit - mainly Chrome at home and IE at work)

7 at this moment, and I'm not even using it really! Can hit 40 across 3-4 windows if I'm working/researching. I get into a flow of working and just don't get round to closing things down. Also when researching for assignments and my dissertation, quite often end up on websites where each level down is a new tab, so 3 websites, four levels in, 12-15 tabs!

Firefox
5 tabs open all the time, sometimes go as high as 30 but will try to close as soon as possible.
