How do you wake up in the morning?

I'm terrible getting up unless I'm on holiday or going somewhere exciting.

Two alarms one set at 6:30 and one set at 6:40 when the first one goes off I snooze it and turn the TV on to watch the news but usually I'll fall straight back to sleep. It's just freezing cold and dark in my flat in the mornings.

The radio comes on and I lie there for five minutes listening to the news headlines. I then get up and turn it off. Easy.

It's made me late a few times too, there is no cure - you're doomed! DOOOMED!!!
What about one of them sonic alarm things, apparently you just cant fall asleep again after waking from those!

I ussually press snooze on my phone a good 2 times before I finally get up but its ok as I set my alarm a good half an hour before I actually have to get up.

I have to be up at 7.40 every morning. My alarms go off at 5, 5.30, 6, 6.30, 7, 7.30 and 7.40. I like to doze. :p. This way I get 6 lie ins! :D

I was late 114 times out of 256 or something last year :o

When I get up I throw my dressing gown on and sit in front of my heater, I can't put myself through the freezing pain. :p

I've never known anyone with more problems than me getting out of bed but when I know I have to get up I force myself out of bed. If I can do it then there's no excuse why anyone else can't do it. If you are missing work and important meetings due to this you are just being lazy IMO.

I set around 3 or 4 alarms on my alarm clock and phone and always have snooze turned on so that if I fall back to sleep another alarm will soon get me up again. I usually give myself about 15mins of wake up time and after the first alarm I will usually sit up in bed so i'm less inclined to fall back to sleep. I've just started back to uni this week after being off for 4 months and only occasionally getting up early for the early shift in work over the summer. When 6.30am comes I could cry but I know if i'm not up and out of the house i'll be late

I set my phone alarm, it goes off a couple of times but I still carry on sleeping. Finally, my mum shouts me to get out of bed. :o

I used to wake up and get out of bed straight away at 6:00am every day as well. Can't seem to do it at the moment.

Considering it will only be a month or two until we're waking up in the dark (depending what time you get up), has anyone used one of those clocks that wake you up with a light gradually getting brighter? Does it get really bright (daylight bright) at the end or is it just like a lamp?

I'd imagine they work really well - it's essentially the curtain trick for dark days.

I used to be awful at getting up in the mornings. I'd have to set my alarm for a good hour before I wanted to get up, and snooze it 5 or 6 times. Since I discovered the curtain trick and finished uni/got a job, I got into the habit of being up at 7am. Now I'm always awake at 7am, even on the weekends, which is annoying. But I now have a job that never means getting up before 9, which feels like a lay in every single day!

I generally find opening my eyes helps...

It was very odd this weekend, i got up at 4am no problem to get out and do some photography... but this week i can hardly get myself out of bed at 8am for uni.

Up at 6:30 on the dot (without an alarm), nookie, shower, dressed, chill and eat breakfast then walk to the bus stop and go to work.

*n

Who can be botherd with nookie that hour of the morning?:o

Or do you just climb a bored bounce around a bit finish up while shes still asleep then leave?:p

It seems like a pointless exercise to set an alarm an hour or so before you're due to be up, as it only deprives you of a decent hours sleep. It's surely more productive to just shift yer backside out of bed when your alarm first goes up, knowing at that point you most definitely cannot snooze or risk being late?!

I have a song recommendation as an alarm: NWA - Chin Check. It starts off with a phone call to the police, then gun shots... finally a woman screaming. Worked for me at 6th form!

people actually have alarms by their bedside? i thougt that was just in movies.

when my alarms go off, i get up, go to the desk (opposite side of room) turn off, walk to cupboard (back near bed) reach to top of cupboard (near ceiling) turn off.

then i go back to sleep.

once i forced myself to go to shower instead of going back to sleep.

i fell asleep in the shower, fell down, hitting my head on the (presumably) tap and lay there. when i woke up, my head was bleeding and i was about 2cm away from drowning because i had blocked the plughole when i fell down.

not doing that again.

or

b) doorbell going when I'm waiting for the delivery of a gadget..I'm up like a bloody shot then! ;)
Haha, I'm guaranteed to jump of bed when I'm waiting for a shiny new toy :D

I have major problems getting out of bed, today I woke up and then ended up going to uni at 11:30 from my original time of 8:30. I kept putting the alarm on for either 10, 20 or 30 minutes more each time it went off :\
