how does a cooling system work?

am planing to get a cooling system for my i7 920 n gigabyte motherboard...but not sure how it work exactly, how its installed etc
 
y is that...my motherboard is compatible with the water cooling system and am planin to overclock to 4ghz???
 
I think he's saying that you need to learn a bit more about custom puters in general and get some experience before jumping into watercooling.
 
How do they work? In a similar way to Air cooling.

You have the block and a radiator, As the water hits the block, its takes away heat from the processor. When it gets to the radiator, That heat is transferred to the air making the water nice and cool again. What makes water better over air (If done properly) is that it transfers a lot more heat.

Other than that though, Take what advice has been said. Don't just jump straight into it, You need a bit of knowledge. Its not like air and if it goes wrong you have another try, It goes wrong and it can potentially break your PC.
