How does one get a wifi adapter to be close to 1300 Mbps?

Hi I have a USB dongle that only has the following speed attached to USB3.0:

ive never seen speeds faster than 700-800 and I have full bars on the wifi, the driver is up to date - is there anything else I can do to get a better speed?

Otherwise I will need to run a cable!

the wifi channel has also been changed btw - I think the settings on the rotuer itself look ok but no harm in double checking again
be good to know if anyone has an answer on this to improve the speeds.

802.11ac has a theoretical maximum of 1300, yes. But what's theoretically possible is never achieved outside of a lab environment with perfect conditions. It's never going to happen in your house, unfortunately.

Wired is the way to go for maximum throughput with minimal latency and packet loss. No wireless option available beats a real cable.

1300 is a marketing number generated by adding the maximum 2.4ghz and 5ghz speeds together.

In all likelihood the most you could expect from 5ghz is 866Mbps.

Ah ok well im fairly close to that

I suppose i will run a cable or two when i can
Just need to get my sds out and find some decent cable clips

If you can, wired is always most stable/best. Even if you get the same speed latency can be affected.

Made the most of when we were tearing our house apart and stuck cables everywhere I could!

Yes i used to have a wired network and it was great

Now its wireless

Channel width large as possible what does that mean?

I think the channel is set to auto for 5ghz and the speeds been better since it was running on channel 36

I get full bars on the wifi too
