Im trying to film in a form and it has asked if i have any official cautions from the police. Now i dont belive i do however i was stopped and handed a pink slip late last year. I wasnt arrested and i wasnt fined the £80 i belive goes hand in hand with an official caution.

Can anyone tell me if this is an official caution? Or meerly a non official caution? Or just a stop talk to thing?

imo, cautioned = warned in other words. Usually for simple things, like either stupid things or something like that. So the police can take your name and details, usually just for future references I guess, or depending if they think its serious they will be in contact with you.

No, a police caution is a official thing, the difference being that you don't get it on your record (but it is recorded - don't make that mistake!). You would have been brought to the station in front of an officer (usually a super or so) and had a statement read out to you about the fact you were being cautioned. At the end you would have been asked if you understood.

What does this bit of pink paper say?

That is a non-official caution.

An official caution would be done at a police station by an Inspector, and you would sign something to say you admit the offense.

says i wasnt arrested there was no offence commited (its been crossed out so assume thats whats meant). It describes me and why i was stopped and has the police ladys name and number etc.

Phew! sooo pleased about that :). Thanks!!

haha no nothing to do with drugs :). a University drunken night gone too far shall we say (not drunken behaviour though (well i suppose it was!)).

The worst thing was i was in fancy dress at the time so my description is rather interesting.

Did he search you?

If so its a reciept from him to say he has searched you on a certain time/date and has his name/number/station name on it so if you want to complain about the search you can!
