A normally A++ service is begining to slip a little of late

query just wondered if any one knows how the order process works

i would have thought it would go like this

1. you order goods
2. website checks goods are in stock
3. website asks for payment
4. website then forwards order to warehouse
5. Warehouse then picks, packs and send out goods
6. pray u did not ask for royal mail

seems just latley 2, 4 & 5 are getting it a bit mixed up then i have to take time out to get it sorted

so im wondering is there a problem some where with the web sites stock control or just the way the orders are processed needs updating

Well normally I find OCUk pretty good, I have have only had two issues.

Both times have been when the items were showing in stock but they weren't physically there resulting in me waiting days for a parcel that sin't going to come and then having to contact the sales office to find they were out of stock, as apposed to them ringing me to let me know.

I've had this issue twice as well... I called up the day it was supposed to be delivered, as that was late enough.. and i discovered that part of my order was out of stock, so they didn't send anything. Probably a good way of doing it, as you may change the rest of your order to fit compatibility...

Would be nice if there was an email sent out when this happens, so you can just reply with your order change, and jobs a good 'un.

I have contacted them. well this about the 4th time its happened in 2 years but its a bit annoying when ur spend ur day in waiting and cursing the delivery driver when nothing even been sent

and if its happening to other people as well then surley there is problem there that needs to be sorted other wise i cant fault them

As Andy says if one thing isnt in stock they hold the order back, pros and cons, cos if by the time they get that item back in stock something else might be out, Ive since learned to try and only order things showing as 10+ in stock

Have to agree also.

I made 2 orders on the 2nd of this month. First being at 14:23 and granted it was free dpd it arrived the following day. So far so good. Exactly half an hour (14:53) later, I ordered the logitech G500 and on checkout it offered free royal mail 1st class.

Its now the 4th and I am still not in possesion of my order yet but more infuriating is that overclockers send you an email telling you its been shipped and you can trace your package completely omiting said tracking code??.

Sorry for hijacking your thread but I think I prefered it when their pricing was competitive and you had to pay for next day delivery!.

Chris

Ps. What is the deal with Royal Mail 1st class?. Is it signed for?. 1-2 business days?.

strikes dont get me started on the postal strikes i got various stuff coming from all over the country its a bloody nightmare
