How does this Audi A3 look?

Can anyone give any info about what the 1.6 and the 2.0 petrol models are like?

Wow people want 3k for VAG group cars and the millage of some is 150-180k+ WTF

I think a Focus is probably the best alternative. You've got to absolutely love one the A3 to spend this kind of money on one given it's age/mileage. Not sure it's special enough to keep pouring money in to.

I've only had one high mileage Audi (A3) and it didn't go well. Nor did the A4 a friend had. Turbos in both exploded around the 100k mark :/

well thats solved then, hah. I best be more realistic with my choice. I am organising a couple test drives of a civic and focus soon.

Prefer the civic, dont know much about them though, but liking the 1.8 ES and EX models.

Curveball suggestion but I've got to mention it. For this sort of money you get a LOT of Saab 9-3 compared to other cars in this sort of segment - admitedly its a small saloon rather than a larger hatch but not worlds apart.

This is actually my old car - it's not a brand everyone likes but I think they look superb. No issues running or maintaining them compared to any mainstream brand. This one had nearly 130k on it when I traded it in and it never missed a beat

its up at 2900 then its says £3000 no offers..

umm No expense has been spared on this vehicle.
but it needs new brake disc's,new rear windscreen wiper , gear sticks in 1st/2nd gears (needs pulling out ) sounds like it needs an new clutch, new parcel self there a few £100's to pay out here.unless my eye sight is getting bad it states that the car has always been regularly cleaned/valeted including additional leather treatment.to me the inside don't look clean .am sure their better ones out there. any way diesel is going up in price soon and car tax. happy days to come :D:D:D

You've made it to the internet, you are cognisant, you are clearly more intelligent than the person who will actually buy this car.

Move on and buy the car that doesn't make you feel like you need to ask questions about it. You deserve something better.

Thanks for input all, I have come to my senses and I have been considering this civic now... maybe there is something cheaper with less spec and that, but least this ticks the boxes for loaded with mod cons!

Been serviced by himself for last 6 years, but has had new tyres and few bits last couple years, also, on the phone, he said it has had a windscreen chip repaired late last year. If it all checks out, what to offer? Bare in mind this is a top spec model, with only 66k on the clock. Been reading so much about these and only good things to say about Honda in general.

I'd be very happy with 3k. I thought the same about the MOT, clean. Going to view it tomorrow morning, earliest he could do.

Do I go in first with 3k or say 2900? I don't want to be insulting.

If it was me I'd take 3k cash with me. Just say thats all you've got - you'll drive it away if he'll take it
