save for a 335 DCT. Will only be 5 years or so before they are affordable(the DCT is comming to the UK cars isnt it ?)

...the 320 is a good car, with a nice engine ...but it really lacks the punch of the 3 litre. It's a hell of a lot better than your average 2 litre 4 pot you'll find in similar sized cars from many other manufacturers though.[TW]Fox;15966632 said:Yea, the bottom is normally about £15k, but the point still stands.
The E46 is too old to spend £12,000 on unless it's an M3.
Why bother? What does a £12,000 330 Coupe do that a £7000 330 Coupe wont do? Other than go DAG DAG DAG DAG DAG DAG DAG and cost you £1000 when the turbo explodes?
For crying out loud, then why are you posting? You haven't even read the thread - then at least you'd know something.More torque lower down ? Less co2 output. Less tax. More MPG ?
I havent researched them, as I dont want one, so the above may be completely wrong.

Wasn't he saying talking about the difference between the petrol and diesel engine rather than between production year of petrol engine?
doh
Two people i know have 335D's and struggle to get into the 30s around town and have never seen 40 mpg.
I could look at something a bit sexier - E90 330ci maybe?
Ah thats surprising, there didn't seem to be much price differential between an E46 CI and saloon... well, they seem to go for a bit more but not 30%
