Hi,
Sorry for my first post on these forums to be a cry for some kind of help.. But, here it is:
I havn't built a computer for 3+ years, possibly longer, and in that time I have taken no notice of the new advances in technology and so on. I am however, at last, looking to get myself a new computer, I have about £650-750 to spend. So far I have come up with this:
Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 (£133.99)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-161-INv
ABit IP35-E (£54.99)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-129-AB
OCZ 4GB DDR2 (£64.99)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-087-OC
Asus GeForce EN8800 GT 512MB (£164.99)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-142-AS
Western Digital RE2 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache £67.99
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-146-WD
Asus DRW-1814BLT DVD/RW (£16.99)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CD-032-AS
Corsair 620W PSU (£64.99)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-004-CS
NZXT Hush Classic Series Silent Computer Chassis (£53.99)
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-004-NX
Sub-Total: £632.99 before VAT, £758 with it.
Anything I have missed? Any comments?
Im just looking for anywhere I am wasting my money, or where it could be better spent.
I have also never had any experience with SATA before.. Is it, as far as a simple nab like myself is concerned, simply a different plug than IDE? Or does it have special requirements etc? Besides of course the motherboard supporting it, which im fairly sure the one I have chosen does.
Thanks.
