Cleanbluesky's thread about his mx5 got me thinking, some ppl just think the MX5 is out and out slow but good fun to chuck around, never done any 0-60 and onwards timed runs in mine so i though i would do one to show how the car pulls.

This was done with the roof down so it will be a fraction quicker with the roof and windows up, flat road but not totally straight, its hard to find a good long private driveway without the odd kink!

I know several other ppl have done vids so post em all in this thread :)

Anyways have a spy 0-60 is hit in just over 6 seconds its prolly 6.5 but taking the speedo error into account i get a 0-60 in 7 seconds in that vid and 0-80 comes up in 11 :)

Enjoy

Only thing I've ever timed in the Elise was 40-70, with a passenger doing the timing on a sweltering hot day. Think it came back at 3.1s which I thought wasn't too shabby.

Ive got a G tech meter but can never find a place where I can stop which is flat, where I dont get in the way of everyone whilst stopped and can get to a decent speed without speeding too much.

I believe the car is capable of 0-60s in the mid 5 secs range and 1/4 miles in the mid 13s

Mine pulls all the time. Every time I park it in a wide open space in a car park its surrounded by filthy harlots by the time I get back.

Excellent vid, im curious as to the cost of your modifications and easy of installation

HT Leads are the Magancore ones, Plugs Are the NGK Longer Reach, Induction is the K&N Typhoon, Cold Air feed and box are home made, Exhaust is the IL Motorsport Twin.

Leads £51
Plugs £12
Induction £175
Exhaust £350

I do however have a Wideband O2 feeding a narrowband signal to the stock ecu and the Wideband feeding my Emanage Ultimate, i've tuned it slightly ;)

No vids but my Hyundai did it in 8.2 on a G-Tech meter. Haven't tested the new on yet but i imagine it will be faster than that. I'll see if i can get a vid sorted when i get back from Wales next week.

I love these speedo ones. If I went by mine I would be only getting to 55 real speed when I hit 60 on speedo.

I noticed that with my MR2 today, it's a lot more inaccurate than my previous cars.

Exactly and as speed builds the time taken to cover 5mph begins to get a lot bigger!

Gonna have to try a 0-55 and see what sort of time I can get.

Would imagine 5 secs maybe under. ;)

I know a G meter wont be 100% but it has to be better than the speedo and timer method.

For the record I used to do the speedo timer method my self and thought my 1.25 would do 0-60 in 10 secs. :)
