How early to get to a gig?

Exactly the same happened for me at the Glasgow manics gig. I'd heard of British Sea Power but never actually listened to them and they were a fantastic support - straight out the next day to buy one of their albums.
 
I went to see a band last Friday, the doors opened at 7pm. When I cycled past the venue at 7:15am on my way to work there were people queuing outside.

Madness. It was about -2 as well.
 
Got here late as I met a friend for a few beers first. Support act is done and he was good...just waiting for BA to come on. Great crowd here :)
