Maybe you should open your CV and see how much effort you put into that.

I'd like to meet someone who can write essays at 60wpm without having the need to look at text books / internet. :rolleyes:

I would suggest she tells the college what happened and what she ended up having to do, probably giving them the printout version as well. Then if there are any stupid OCR mistakes they won't hold it against her. Given how many students cry "help" at the deadline date due to not having done the work at all, I'm be astonished if the college would have a big issue with this.

On a practical matter, it's worth bearing in mind that 5000 words isn't that much to retype for a decent typist. It would probably take me a couple of hours.
