How exactly can a shape be 'fun'?

Are you seriously asking this and want it explained or are you being purposely obtuse and pretentious?

I would think anyone of adult age and IQ could understand how these products are being marketed in comparison to their alternatives.

I can explain in detail if required, but I hope not.

Sounds like you could do with some fun shapes in your life. Somebody send this man a pack of Starmix.

Also just this year we have had complaints from people:

Frozen Alphabet mash potatoes did not contain all the letters

Reeces Christmas tree bars were not Christmas tree shape

Some people had complained as much about toblerones new shape rather than the decrease in weight. That they should have taken chocolate off the base rather than in between triangles, to save costs

I know people who every once in a while bring up turkey Twizzlers like they were a forgotten treasure of their youth, rather than the cheapest of cheap meats that had to be spiced and shaped unlike any other food, just to serve to children.

The seasonal advent calendar which doesn't have any specific shape just divides cheap chocolate into 25 or Easter egg, because... spring?

Fact of the matter is that it works.

Because children can make anything fun (at least to them).

This is very true. I sat and watched a 1 year old amuse themselves for the best part of an hour with nothing other than their changing mat and a fleece blanket, shrieks of joy the lot :D
