Hi, so I am going to attempt overclocking my (not so) beastly 3800+ single core which is currently at 2.4GHz. I don't know it's reputation of being a good overclocker or anything so I was just wondering...

..with a decent heatsink such as a Tuniq Tower, a cheap Arctic 120m case fan and a generic case, how far do you think I will be able to go?

Just an estimate is fine. Thanks. :)

Need more details about the chip & the case & your fan/cooling set up to make a decent estimate. May not clock at all, May hit 2.8 may go higher. Need more info

Okay sure, the last thing is want is a incinerated processor!

in·cin·er·ate (n-sn-rt)
v. in·cin·er·at·ed, in·cin·er·at·ing, in·cin·er·ates
v.tr.
To cause to burn to ashes.
v.intr.
To burn completely. :D

As for the case, I don't know what else to tell you other than it's silver and is no-name.

*don't link to competitors!* - That is the 120mm fan I got like I said very cheap but better than the nothing I have at the minute.

Ta.

might want to remove the link.
ive got a 3800+, same core revision and it gets to about 2.6, without any voltage changes, just upping the fsb and lowering the memory speed.
Ah, thanks for the heads up. There doesn't appear to be an edit button, so sorry guys I didn't know there was a rule in place, apologies.
